Nurse Education in China
There are two levels of Nurse Studies in China. An AA
degree in Nursing requires 3 years of study. A Undergraduate
nursing program is 5 years.
The programs are aimed at training highly qualified and advanced
nursing talents in the fields of clinical nursing, nursing administration,
nursing education, and nursing research by increasing, refining,
disseminating, applying and storing knowledge, skills, and values
relating to nursing.
Graduates are encouraged
to hold holistic nursing philosophy and humanistic nursing value
and have rich knowledge and skills in natural science, basic
medicine, humanistic science, and nursing science, skillful
in using nursing process to solve nursing problems.
Curriculum in such programs covers English language, English
medical terminology, education, mathematics, physics, medical
chemistry, organic chemistry, modern basic biologics, anatomy,
physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, Immunology, pathology,
pharmacology, preventive medicine, fundamental nursing, nursing
theory, health assessment, medical nursing, surgical nursing,
obstetric and gynecological nursing, pediatric nursing, Traditional
Chinese Medicine, emergency nursing, symptomatic nursing, mental
health, nursing administration, and nursing research et al.
A 3 year degree qualifies its graduates for hospitals and other
healthcare facilities throughout the country. These nurses
would acquire their Registered Nurse license in about one year
on the job. The 5 year program would send its graduates
to work in Universities or top-level hospitals as advanced clinical
nurses, nurse educators, nurse administrators, or nurse researchers. |
